After 4+ years waiting for a DETOX, May you all be young enough to see this project to fruition.

I, for one, DO/STILL want a standalone DETOX...No interest in any DAC. While I was really psyched about having a CNC chassis with isolated compartments, I would be amenable to populated AND tested PCB. Not clear to me what the cost to me (sans shipping) would be for this option?!

That's encouraging, John. :) As previously indicated by me, I would be willing to front additional money if (1) I knew it was a definite and (2) what the final cost would be.

So... Standalone DETOX supporters will not have advantage of the enhance decorrelation...unless they commit to a DAC? We have all at one time or another purchased an item only to have it superseded by the next "latest & greatest" version. In THIS case, we do not even have the standalone...

John, any thoughts on my suggestion to offer the "enhanced" DETOX as a board which could be DIYed into a standalone unit? Thanks.

FWIW (and I HAVE pictures), the CNC DETOX chassis as designed had individual shielding compartments for each of the 3 decrapifier stages as well as other pieces of the circuitry, part of its distinction from realized competitive designs. I expect trying to do that with a garden variety...

Well, I am one of those who ARE interested in a standalone DETOX. Having tried competitive USB decrapifiers and found them unacceptable, I was excited by the prospect of a "pull out all the stops (e.g., a purposely designed CNC chassis) design". Being happy with my DAC then and now, I did not...

Could use a progress report on the DETOX before I order my BLACK Forest Cake with 3 BLACK candles! :(

Congrats, John, on the excellent review of the Pro-Ject Streambox! Did read about the unit getting quite warm tho'. Does this have implications for the DETOX?
