Mike -B indeed.. It is an interesting mind game to think of two very unequal lengths of speaker cable and then add the missing inductance and capacitance to the crossover of the shorter cable length speaker ... Should they not then perform equivalently? BTW +1 for folding excess speaker cable...

Other than, I can only speak about Naim from personal experience, if the lengths are significantly different then the sonic balance of each channel will be ever so slightly different. However in a real world domestic environment I suspect this might not be that noticeable. Simon

I use a Naim Hiline DIN to phono and it works very well and seems to loose not much from the signal. I also use Naim amps. simon

I agree Tony, the Hugo does seem to have a great synergy with Naim amplification, and strangely betters in terms of my musical enjoyment anything that Naim has in its digital source portfolio currently.. The better the Naim amp the more the Hugo seems to shine (probably stands to reason) ...

Barry, well the Hugo design certainly challenges a few standards, and as you imply not least the PSU. Don't get me wrong I am fond of Naim, and use Naim amplification, but I found that little Hugo really just did it for me in a way I had not experienced in other DACs I had owned or auditioned. Simon

Try and get the new ATC tweeter units for your speakers, they do sweeten the sound.. Still faithful to the recording but seemingly slightly more forgiving. Really enjoying the new ATC sound on the new SCM19's
