This is a regretful sale as genuinely these speakers are just absolutely incredible. Huge sound, huge sound field, massive detail and incredible bass from such a tiny size. I only drive them in low levels of output from my 8 watt amp, but they just blow my mind. The finish is exquisite, they are in a premium (Extra cost) finish with the bamboo (Extra cost) baffles. Complete with the official Trennor & Friedl stands. £6,500 new, 9 months old and immaculate, looking for £3,500. Complete with all packaging and warranty. Thanks.

Please see further photos of my speakers, they are immaculate and include the stands, both speakers and stands are in unmarked boxes that have been kept in the house. They have probably had 5 hours play time in the last few months, and are GENUINELY the best speakers I’ve owned. I’m only selling to fund another bike purchase. Thanks

How do they compare to your previous Art Alnico sig speakers?
Peter

Hello Peter, that’s going back a few years and I hadn’t explored valves then so hard to draw a comparison. The ART Alnico were good but obviously quite large, the T&F are tiny but sound large with no apparent trade off to depth of sound and being small they image so well with a very wide soundstage, much bigger than the Boenicke W8 that I had.

Thank for your reply. I hope that you do not mind me asking; what do you drive them with, would they tolerate, say push pull set amps (20w), or do they prefer more power. I assume that the picture is of the Fyne F1.5 alongside the T & F; any obvious differences? I am asking as I am looking to set up a second 'domestically acceptable' system.

Peter

Hi Peter, I’ve driven them with the valve amplifier in the photos, it’s a massive 8 watts. I don’t like loud banging music, preferring subtleties. I used to love headphone listening but these soeakers made my HD800S sound very uninvolving and closed in, not something that they’d normally be described as.

They have a wider soundstage, less saturated bass (it might have been my room) but the bass is all there but quick and natural with no overhang. Immense detail and vocals, piano and instruments so natural and unforced.

These really are stunning speakers and deserve to much better known. There are plenty of complementary reviews on the net for people to pour over and draw their own conclusions. However there is an unusual review that provides an enormous amount of measurement data; graphs and waterfall plots as well as a detailed commentary and recommendations regarding placement. It is worth reading and if the measurements are too much then scroll down to the end. www.nonsoloaudiofili.com . You will need a translator. It must have taken ages to put together. One of the most detailed reviews I have ever read.

Can i really afford the asking price?

Peter
