There's a guy over on the Wigwam forum who spent 2 years auditioning speakers in search of a final speaker purchase. He listened to a LOT of well regarded speakers but couldn't recover from hearing the Beolab 90s and the only cure was to start saving for them. He's now bought a pair. Nothing could touch them in his view. Having read a lot about them I can't say I'm surprised. Going to hear them myself in a couple of weeks.

Can't be arsed reading the whole thread. So I 'first or second or third the Tannoy Westminster Royal.

My next would be the Rogers Studio 3 as a more domestically useful LS3/5-A

But then I am very shallow.. and currently a bit pissed. ;)

Good thing you can't buy hifi at that time of night or 2 very large boxes might be arriving next week.

Since becoming interested in hifi about 35 yrs ago I have owned the following speakers:

Arc 101 (1981-1994)
Linn Sara (1994-2002)
Naim SBL (2002-2005)
PMC OB1 (2005-2006)
Rega R7 (2006-2015)
Rega RS3 (2015-2017)
Shahinian Arc (2017-on)

the top three are: 1. Shahinian; 2. Rega R7; 3. PMC OB1.
