Do you remember the first box set of records you owned or bought?

I'd bought a few albums and singles before I worked up to a box-set:

Bought in Our Price, Portsmouth in 84-ish.

The first one I bought was the Mike Oldfield boxed set. Years before that I borrowed a box set from the record library "Electronic Panorama"

Britannia music club. They sent a box each month, an evening with an orchestra, which amounted to 3 or 4 LPs a month. I never returned a box and learned a lot about classical music. They seem to have gone missing......:(

Irish Folk Favourites 4CD set, bought to play on my new Phillips CD player many years ago. Dubliners, The Fureys, The Kilfenora Ceilidh Band, Sweeney's Men, The Grehan Sisters.

Still superb.

'Biograph' by Bob Dylan, unless 'The Last Waltz' by The Band qualifies. (Anyway I think that's Mrs H's rather than mine).

Other than a k-tel like Various Artists album it was Thing-Fish by Frank Zappa which was a bit of a shock to the system...
