Detox uses a 2mm centre positive female barrel plug

Looking at the picture of the PSU and its looks like a Switching supply as its relatively thin and narrow.

With audio, every improvement in PSU seems to bring a positive change - that said the linear supply we are recommending for the Detox is only a simple linear unregulated DC output.

2.0mm or 2.1mm?
The cable linked in one of your posts was this...

Your comment re the "LPS" looking more like a SMPS was interesting. Too bad one cannot believe what you read!

Totally understand the interest in having the best power supply practical.

What Gain do Mic's need?
+60dB should be good enough for most cases, slightly more as a headroom for quiet environments would be better.

PS: Do you have a good shop to buy reliable linear PSUs from that would ship to CZ? I need one for 5V, another one for 9V and for 12V, mostly replacing switching PSUs that came with various equipment, but I fear ordering those chinese PSUs off Ebay as I've seen people open them and missing shielding, etc.

I've got two of these, no complaints whatsoever - - > http://www.hd-plex.com/HDPLEX-Fanless-Linear-Power-Supply-for-PC-Audio-and-CE-device.html

Yeah, I need something for $10-$20 and as small and light as possible, so I could carry all of them in a small pocket of a backpack. :)

I know about https://www.gme.cz/napajeci-adaptery-sitove (CZ), but if there's something better at a similar size and pricepoint with shipping to CZ ...

Best bet is to ask Jarek - I've no real experience with purchasing anything here in the Czech Rep... in fact I rarely leave the confines of my lab since they closed Husa in Olomouc.

Hi John
Have you anyone on the list who would like to take my place to buy the FDAC L3 for which I have paid £ 500 to date.
I'm afraid I need to drop out, long story.
If not is there anyone out there who would like to take my place

No one waiting - but once the MDAC2 PCB are prototyped and we open production payment I expect a surge of interest and I can pass your position on.

I'll join you both in Munich, no matter what's the project status I'll treat you for beers (since we're in beers homeland).

Only been on this roadtrip for 1190 days / 3 years, 3 months, 3 days since first joined, so what's another year ... ;-)

It will be great to meet, and that I will be able to upgrade PFM'ers MDAC to MDAC2's at the Munich show :)

At the Munich show we will also have a few surprises :)

I may be interested. What will total cost be? When is FDAC expected to ship?

I'm sure this type of pornography will be removed by the moderator...(can we please keep this TonyL?)....anyway, let's enjoy it while we can...:D
Notice the impeccable formatting...phuah!

After a cold shower I have decided to moderate myself! (There was a minor error (headphone output I believe) by John in the original listed features which he has now fixed in his post above....still I was getting hot under the collar seeing all those features....phew!

Hi John. Thanks for the features clarification above. Is it the case that the "Front Panel mounted Balanced 4W XLR ... headphone output" will control a relay to disconnect other equipment, as is the case today with the MDAC's headphone jack socket?

Prices are on the Lakewest Audio website I think the FDAC L3 is £1250 plus some VAT and shipping.
I dont think you have to have the L3 if you did take my place though as long as you have an L1 2 or 3 with or without phonostage.
As far as I can see delivery is about April / May 2017

Mark,

Sorry I corrected my original Spec. but its still shown in Tims post - the MDAC front panel is reused, so the 4W balanced XLR's are on the MDAC2's rear panel.

The same Relays that toggle the Front panel headphone jack also toggles the Rear balanced headphone outputs.
