The Leveson Inquiry Thread.

Will be very interesting to see what Rupert's got tomorrow. I have a feeling the Murdochs want to take Cameron etc down with them. It's all huge fun for those of us who detest the lot of 'em: a court room full of disgraced monkeys hurling their own faeces at each other. What's not to like?

Meanwhile on Newsnight, posh Tory Reese Mogg has thrashed Harriet Harman and the Newsnight presenter whose walk to the table in her ridiculous stilettos made her look like a badly coordinated clown. My bet is that Hunt will survive.

Yes, I did mean good acting performance by James Murdoch. He's stronger than I thought.

Yes and I'm expecting Bliar to have been Rupe's bitch. So more fun to come. If he had a shred of dignity 'Hunt' would resign. So I fully expect him to survive.

i wouldn't knock emily maitlis with that sexist talk....look what happened to the last person that tried that!!! is murdoch (j) acting or has really just forgotten?

by the way which minister does leveson have to report to?

by the way which minister does leveson have to report to?

The one with the cockney rhyming slang name that was in the news yesterday.

Now that Jimmy has dealt with the ministerial underlings I expect Rupe to go for the PMs that he's dealt with over the last few years. I expect Blair, Brown and Cameron to all be a little nervous at the morning.

If a woman sacrifices the ability to move for what she perceives as better looking legs, to that extent, then she's no feminist.

I think feminism involves wearing whatever you bloody well like regardless of what anyone else thinks is acceptable, sensible, or projects the "right" image.

If Hunt survives this week, the Murdoch empire will leak more dirt on him, a slow drip drip drip of innuendo and allegation. They're out to get Cameron and his cronies now. Couldn't happen to a more deserving shower of shits.

i notice it was your criticism of emily maitlis as young mr mogg never mentioned her walking precariously.....sexist?

what has femininity got to do with being a good journalist?

who brought up her appearance? oh you did.....deffo sexist......

what has femininity got to do with being a good journalist?
This has nothing to do with femininity; I mention this as a movement specialist. I'm curious as to why an intelligent woman would choose to virtually cripple herself for the sake of appearance. Here's the video. Check her walking 13 minutes in.

i watched it last night....your comment was sexist, don't now try and feint concern for poor emily's posture.....drop the sexist crap......

Chunt looks to be sacrificing his advisors, one, an Adam Smith, has "resigned".

PS Steve, Darryl, please stop the bickering, it's bloody tedious.

amazing that hunt was dealing with murdochs while vince was still in charge.....stunning.
on 4 news now john willingale is defending hunt and he's the chairmen of the other committee....what the fu#k!!!

hunt must resign.....getting closer to cameron and osborne though now....shady cocks....

Not really. He is, after all, culture secretary, and the media is part of his portfolio. It would therefore be suprising if he did not have contacts with the big media barons.

Personally, I do not think you would find a single politician in Westminster who could have overseen the BSkyB takeover properly. There is not one of them who does not fall into either very pro (the Tories, because currently News International is backing them), or very anti (labour/libdem, because News International is not backing them).

Hunt appears to have played it by the book, though. Once he was put in charge, he appears to have meticulously followed the ministerial code, had no direct contact, done nothing without running it past the Civil Service first. I fail to see how he has to resign, actually.

You haven't been following the revelations of the last couple of days if you think any of this is true.

Chunt is delivering a slimy speech 'it wasn't me gov' speech right now. Nick Clegg is sitting next to him on the bench with a thought bubble above his head that reads: "...that lying, lying chunt..."
