Very sad story, especially given the popularity and resurgence of vinyl since their deaths. I heard my first Garrott Decca at NA studios, Tom was an enthusiast at the time. Hyperspace with croft amps and Posselt speakers. I still use 2 Garrott deccas with original microscanners, according to JW with around 500-1000 hrs left on them. Also have a Garrott P89 which is a lovely sounding MC, out performing any Koetsu I’ve had.

Either the owner never cleaned or kept clean any record and/or it has done a lot of time.

The fact that the seller seems to be a hi-fi business of some sort makes it even worse.
